Hey Guys,
I am not a native English speaker and converting “can” beliefs such as “PSTec can hurt me” is a bit unintuitive for me.
In the instructions Tim uses “could”, but that does not signal the past in an obvious way for me even though it is grammatically correct.
Am I right in the assumption that this tool doesn't care about correct grammar, but rather about my perception that what I am saying is in the past and not in the present?
What would be a better way of converting this or should I just not worry about it?
Thanks, Kim

Thanks for your post.
You have brought up a great point and I would agree that it is important to re-word the belief in such a way that YOU recognise it as having moved into the past.
How do the following statements resonate with you?
– “PSTEC was hurting me.”
– “PSTEC could have hurt me.”
Pick the statement which seems to be more rooted in the past.
I would also tap into the “why?” here. Perhaps you feel it is dangerous to change or to get rid of your unwanted emotions. Do any of these resonate with you?
“It was dangerous for me to change.”
“It was not possible for me to change.”
“If I had changed, something bad would have happened.”
“I was not safe”
I would suggest checking in with those (say each statement out loud to see if they feel true). You could then eliminate them.
I hope that helps clarify the matter for you, Kim.
If you have any other questions, please get in touch.
All the best,
Paul

Based on this you could perhaps use, pstec could have hurt me, or else “pstec was hurting me” remember though if your clearing emotions with the normal tracks you only have to try really hard to focus on the feeling your looking to clear. Happy clicking all the best hope this was helpful ??

“PSTEC could have hurt me” feels right to me.
And thanks for the suggestions for other potential beliefs!
