When using the CT, we are asked to “gaze for a few moments at a spot on the wall…..”
I find myself gazing for a few seconds before my mind wanders off and/or I've closed my eyes and am off working on something else in my mind (like planning dinner!).
Any suggestions?

OK, sorry about that one… could not resist… well, I could, but…
Bottom line…don't worry about it. The beginning there is to get you off your previous thought and state, that's all.
If you wander, just come back to focusing on the memory and feelings you are targeting. Remember, this is not necessarily easy; it does take some concentration and focus, but just do the best you can and be kind to yourself.

Jeff
July 9, 2011 at 2:16 am#22395Jeff HardingPSTEC UserThanks, Jeff! I'm just trying to do it right! When Tim says, “Gaze for a few moments…” and then starts talking, it's kind of distracting! So I've taken to fast-forwarding to the 1-minute mark, and then trying to focus.
Have I mentioned that I have focus issues?!
