    That negative statement represents something you do not want in your life, you are destroying it's hold over you. So to me adding a bit of drama to the process should enhance its effectiveness. If you can add more senses to your visualization, example “hearing” the sound of the toilet being flushed, I believe this would also enhance the effectiveness.
